Jean Alesi believes that Carlos Sainz Jr. should have been treated better by Ferrari
Carlos Sainz will leave Ferrari at the end of the 2024 season. After three seasons with the Italian team, former driver Jean Alesi believes that the treatment of the Spaniard is not very fair.

Carlos Sainz Jr will have to find an exit door. With Lewis Hamilton’s official move to Ferrari, the Spanish driver will start his last year with the red team. With Charles Leclerc having signed an extension for several seasons, Carlos Sainz Jr is naturally the driver who will lose his seat.
On social media, the 29-year-old athlete posted: « Following the news, Scuderia Ferrari and I will part ways at the end of 2024. We still have a long season ahead of us and, as always, I will do my best for the team and for Tifosi all around the world. News regarding my future will be announced in due time. »
Solid performances
Carlos Sainz Jr finished behind his teammate on two occasions. The former Renault driver won two races during his time at Ferrari, including the Singapore Grand Prix in 2023. He is the only non-Red Bull driver to have triumphed in that season. Although his statistics are not as impressive as Charles Leclerc’s, Carlos Sainz Jr did a good job at Ferrari. He surpassed the 200-point mark in races on two occasions.
He has achieved a very positive record in a team that is undergoing a complete rebuild. Therefore, former Scuderia driver, Jean Alesi, is surprised by the treatment that has been given to Carlos Sainz Jr. The attitude and performances of Carlos Sainz in recent years have been more than positive, I would even say surprising, analyzed the Frenchman in the columns of the Corriere della Sera. He has had results, competitiveness, strength, and accuracy. He is a true gentleman of motorsport who currently finds himself in an uncomfortable and undeserved situation.
Alesi confident in the future of Carlos Sainz Jr.
With these movements in the paddock, Carlos Sainz Jr will have transfer opportunities. In the top teams, Red Bull and Mercedes will have a seat available (if contracts remain unchanged). Moreover, the Sauber rumor continues to gain momentum. Therefore, Jean Alesi is confident in the future of the Spanish driver in Formula 1.
“I am convinced that he will find new opportunities to continue racing on the grid, taking into account his talent and the prestige he has acquired by racing alongside Leclerc,” stated the former driver.
Regarding the battle between Hamilton and Leclerc at Ferrari next year, Alesi estimated that it would be an electric adventure, which renews itself race after race, around which universal interest will be generated.
Carlos Sainz will have his final season at Ferrari in 2024.
