James Volwes is cautious about the start of the investigation opened against Christian Horner
The investigation into Christian Horner for "inappropriate behavior" towards an employee of the Red Bull group is only just beginning. At this stage, the allegations are not yet sufficiently substantiated to dismiss the British individual. His colleague at Williams, James Volwes, prefers to highlight the positive direction Formula 1 is taking in terms of minority integration, rather than commenting on the investigation.

On February 5th, Red Bull announced in a statement that an internal investigation had been opened against their executive director, Christian Horner. The British man is alleged to have exhibited inappropriate behavior towards an employee of the Austrian giant.
Horner denied the alleged facts and will remain in charge of Max Verstappen’s team until the investigation is concluded.
These accusations are starting to make noise in the world of F1. While comments from other teams are scarce for now, James Volwes, Executive Director of Williams, has responded to the media Bloomberg on this subject.
These allegations are allegations. I am afraid I do not understand what lies behind and the meaning of what happened. All I can say is that if this were to happen here, we would be more than willing to address it and ensure that our culture is open to everyone, explains James Volwes.
This situation is changing.
“I think this means that we all need to look in the mirror and make sure that we are asking ourselves the right questions internally and acting in a way that we can be proud of, not just today, but in the next ten years,” claims the Brit.
The sport itself, 20 years ago, was undeniably dominated by men. If you were to ask me what makes up a team, 20 years ago, I would say it is white, most likely male, and most likely around 40 years old… something along those lines, emphasizes the man in his forties.
This situation is changing, and it is only the positive aspect that is altering this outcome. I can only control what happens within Williams and what I can do in this environment is open everyone’s eyes to how we should be, because the best ideas do not come from a closed group of individuals. They come from diversity – positive James Volwes.
