Official: Silverstone will be on the F1 calendar until 2034
The Silverstone circuit's contract was entering its final year this season, but it has recently extended its agreement with Formula 1 for ten more years.

It’s official, the British Grand Prix will be held at Silverstone until 2034. The British circuit was initially under contract with Formula 1 until 2024, but it has been extended for an additional ten years. This extension comes just a few days after Suzuka circuit’s extension with Formula 1 until 2029.
I am delighted that we have obtained a 10-year extension to host the British Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone. This contractual security will provide a solid foundation for the future development of the site as we continue to improve and transform the circuit into an international destination for motorsport and leisure all year round. The 2024 Formula 1 season will start with 9 current and honorary members of the BRDC on the grid, and the importance of our continued support for young drivers is particularly demonstrated by the success of Lewis, Lando, George, and Alex,” said Peter Digby, President of the British Racing Drivers’ Club.
This long-term commitment reflects the importance of the British Grand Prix to Formula 1 and their recognition of our ability to offer a world-class experience to the enthusiastic and knowledgeable British fans, who are among the largest in number. The cheering support from the local teams, and especially the British drivers on the grid, make the atmosphere at Silverstone unique, and I am excited to harness this passion for our sport and take the event to the next level in the decade to come,” said Stuart Pringle, CEO of Silverstone.
I am delighted to announce that the British Grand Prix will remain on the calendar for an additional ten years thanks to this agreement. Silverstone is an iconic venue at the heart of F1’s history and, as it approaches its ninth decade of hosting Grand Prix races, the event continues to attract fans from around the world for fantastic on-track racing and an incredible experience for spectators. I would like to thank Stuart Pringle and the Silverstone team for their hard work and dedication in taking the British Grand Prix to new heights, and I look forward to working closely with them as they seek to further enhance facilities and the fan experience over the next ten years, concludes Stefano Domenicali, CEO of F1.
