Jak Crawford joins Aston Martin’s young driver program
The 18-year-old American pilot, who was a member of the Red Bull Junior Team, has committed to Aston Martin and joined their young driver program. In parallel, he is also signed with the French team DAMS for the 2024 Formula 2 season.

In addition to his commitment in Formula 2 with the French team DAMS, which he has just joined for the 2024 season, Jak Crawford has also joined Aston Martin’s young driver development program. The 18-year-old American driver will work at the Silverstone team’s simulator, and he will have the opportunity to drive the AMR22, Aston Martin’s 2022 Formula 1 car.
A member of the Red Bull Junior Team between 2020 and 2023, the American driver competed in two seasons of Formula 3, with his best result being a seventh place in the championship in 2022. He then moved up to Formula 2 with Hitech in 2023, finishing thirteenth in the championship and claiming a victory in the sprint race in Austria. He will now be competing in his second season of Formula 2 with DAMS, alongside his fellow American teammate Juan Manuel Correa.
Jak Crawford spoke after his arrival at Aston Martin. “I am proud to take this next step in my career. The Aston Martin Formula 1 team is a great place to learn and grow, and the upcoming program seems exciting,” he said.
I’m looking forward to starting to work with everyone, especially on the simulator where I can contribute to the team’s performance during race weekends. I’m thrilled to have the chance to drive the AMR22 later this year. It’s a great source of motivation for me to work hard and make the most of this wonderful opportunity.
The team manager of Aston Martin, Mike Krack, was delighted to sign Jak Crawford. He has shown great potential throughout his junior career, and we are excited to support his learning and development as he takes the wheel of the AMR22 for the first time.

Jak Crawford is also joined by Felipe Drugovich, the 2022 Formula 2 champion, who is still a reserve driver at Aston Martin.
