Lewis Hamilton wants to “give it all” for his final season at Mercedes
At the dawn of starting his final season with Mercedes before joining Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton took advantage of the presentation of the W15 to assert his over-motivation before attacking 2024.

It is the announcement that has shaken the world of Formula 1 at the beginning of 2024. British driver Lewis Hamilton, seven-time world champion, six times with Mercedes, will leave the German team at the end of the season to join Ferrari. But before joining Italy, Lewis Hamilton has one final season to compete in the cockpit of the team based in Brackley. The Briton then spoke out at the launch of the W15, a single-seater car that he hopes will solve the problems encountered in the past by Mercedes.
“The teachings of the past two years have helped us find our direction,” commented Hamilton. “It has allowed us to find our ultimate purpose. It will always be a work in progress, but we will face all challenges with our heads held high, open minds, and a strong work ethic.”
The seven-time world champion then talked about the improvements made to the new W15 and the advantages that will result from it. If you are not comfortable with the car, you cannot extract its maximum performance. A more stable, predictable car will allow us to exploit not only the car’s potential but also our own potential as drivers.
We will give everything we have.
The work carried out by the staff at Mercedes HQ in Brackley and Brixworth has been praised by Lewis Hamilton, who explained the overall motivation within the team as the 2024 season approaches.
“I know what this team is capable of,” he added. “I am incredibly grateful for the work of each person in this team. Every time you are in the factory, you can see the determination and willingness of everyone. We are all extremely motivated for the year ahead and will give everything we have in the upcoming stages.”
This season will mark the last of a long collaboration between Hamilton and Mercedes, with the British driver joining the team in 2013. Under the leadership of Toto Wolff, he has won six world championships between 2014 and 2020.
Despite the announcement of his departure to Ferrari for 2025, Lewis Hamilton still has one more season to give it his all with Mercedes. He will have the opportunity to prove himself right from the first Grand Prix of the season in Bahrain, which will take place on Saturday, March 2nd.
