Mattia Binotto takes on a new job outside Formula 1
The former Scuderia Ferrari team manager has found a new management position in the automotive world. His name has been linked to a number of rumours in recent months, but the Italian will not be returning to F1 in the short term.

Mattia Binotto, who held the position of team principal at Ferrari in Formula 1 until 2022, has found a new role in the automotive industry. Texa, a company known for vehicle diagnostic tools, has announced the arrival of the Italian executive as the CEO of the company’s e-Powertrain division.
In his new role, Mattia Binotto has been tasked with the strategic coordination of the e-Powertrain division, which aims to design, produce, and supply new automotive components for electric vehicles, specifically high-performance sports cars.
The Italian team principal is primarily known by Formula 1 fans for his tenure at the helm of Scuderia Ferrari from 2019 to 2022. This period was disappointing for the team, as they were forced to battle in the middle of the pack, far behind Mercedes and Red Bull. Binotto was then replaced before the 2023 season by the Frenchman Frédéric Vasseur.
In referring to his new role within Texa, Binotto commented: “Beyond the racing experience that I have always pursued in my life, what attracted me to TEXA is the strategic audacity of its project to build Italian excellence characterized by the most advanced technologies in new mobility.”
TEXA aims to establish itself as the global technological standard, through the mobilization of significant investment resources and the attraction of top talents to be concentrated in Italy, where there is a formidable automotive culture to preserve, renew and now also revive.
Since leaving Ferrari and with the numerous changes in team management lately, Binotto has been linked to various roles in F1 on the Alpine or Audi side in particular, but it now appears that the Italian has settled outside of the sport.
