Charles Leclerc on the podium in Jeddah but too far behind the two Red Bulls
While Red Bull dominated this Grand Prix by finishing on the podium with Max Verstappen in first place and Sergio Perez in second, it is Charles Leclerc who completes the podium, his first of the season this Saturday in Saudi Arabia.

Starting 2nd on the grid, Charles Leclerc was overtaken by Sergio Perez to take 2nd place but still managed to secure a 3rd place on the podium. An Arabian Grand Prix once again dominated by Red Bull, but the Monegasque driver was able to score as many points as possible, realizing the significant lead the two Red Bull drivers had.
« We had a rather good pace, as we set the fastest lap in the race at the end. Overall, the sensations were quite good but it may have seemed boring because the Red Bulls were far ahead. We took the maximum points we could today, » he revealed to Canal + micro. Leclerc even mentioned the difference from last season, and it’s quite reassuring: « compared to last year, it’s a step forward. There was probably less adrenaline for me because I was isolated, but this is one of the most physical circuits in the championship, it’s hot and painful because there are many fast corners, making it challenging, » he added.
Impressed by the rookie
This weekend, Charles Leclerc shared the paddock with Oliver Bearman. An 18-year-old driver who arrives straight from F2 and who has proven himself on the Jeddah circuit this Saturday. A performance applauded by the Monegasque. « He completely deserves this title. He did an exceptional job. He did a great job today. Arriving just for Free Practice 3, he was very impressive. He can be very proud,” he said.
