Pierre Gasly reprimanded by stewards after qualifications
Pierre Gasly crossed the yellow line at the pit exit after qualifying in 17th place for the start of the Australian Grand Prix.

The race stewards have made a decision regarding Pierre Gasly during the qualifying session of the Australian Grand Prix. Indeed, after receiving a report from the race director, they determined that the Frenchman had crossed the yellow line at the pit exit, after qualifying in 17th place for the race this Sunday. This constitutes a violation of Appendix L, Chapter IV, Article 6 of the International Sporting Code.
As a result, the stewards have decided to give the driver a warning for his conduct. This is his first warning of the season.
This decision was made after reviewing the video evidence clearly showing that Gasly’s car had crossed the line at the pit lane exit. However, the stewards noted that this maneuver was not dangerous, hence the simple warning penalty.
