Aston Martin breaks a curfew in Japan
The technical delegate's report on the 2024 Japanese Grand Prix revealed that the Aston Martin team had not followed the rules. Employees were present on the circuit outside of authorized hours. As this violation is the first of the season, no penalty is imposed.
According to the report, members of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team’s staff involved in the car’s operation were inside the circuit from 8:00 p.m. on April 5, fifteen and a half hours before the scheduled start of Free Practice 3, and ending three hours before the scheduled start of the session at 8:30 a.m. on April 6.
To preserve the health conditions of employees, the FIA technical regulation stipulates that team employees must no longer be on the circuit premises at certain times.
Last night, the staff of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, involved in the operation of the car, were inside the circuit for twelve and a half hours (12.5), starting at 8:00 pm on April 5th, fifteen and a half hours (15.5) before the scheduled start time of P3 and ending three (3) hours before the scheduled start time of P3 at 8:30 am on April 6th.
« It was the first of the two individual exceptions allowed for the Aston Martin team during the 2024 Formula 1 Championship season, and no action should therefore be taken.
Each team has the possibility of breaking these curfews twice during the season, which will be long this season with 24 Grand Prix. Aston Martin will therefore still have a get-out-of-jail card before risking a penalty.
