A helmet in Chinese colors for George Russell
The Mercedes driver arrives in Shanghai wearing a special helmet representing Chinese culture.

Formula 1 returns to China for the first time since 2019. To mark the occasion, George Russell has decided to wear a helmet in the colors of Chinese tradition.
The British driver had started his Formula 1 career at Williams in 2019. However, he had failed to score points at the 1000th Grand Prix in history, finishing 16th.
Five years later, Russell is driving for Mercedes and is determined, despite the lack of pace, to score important points for the team.
For his second visit to China, Russell wanted a design referring to Chinese culture with notably Chinese characters, an oriental dragon, a tiger, and a dominant color changing from his usual blue to red.
He explains in his post that: « Special edition helmet for China. There are so many details that I wanted to showcase to celebrate my return here in Shanghai. It’s great to run again in China and I wanted to celebrate that with something special, I hope you will like it! Tell me what you think. »
