Two weeks ago, Lando Norris delivered a magnificent performance on the Miami circuit, with a victory and the title of driver of the day that he also retains this weekend following the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. The Brit is making this season start with races that are as beautiful and incredible as each other.

This time, this Sunday at Imola, the McLaren driver made a lasting impression by significantly reducing the gap with Max Verstappen. The Red Bull driver once again secured a victory. During the race, Verstappen managed to build a lead of over 7 seconds. But that was without counting on Norris, who started second on the grid, to put an end to it. Lap after lap, the 24-year-old driver pushed his car to its limits to get closer to the front driver. As a result, Lando Norris went from being 7 seconds behind the triple world champion to 0.7s. A well-deserved driver of the day status for the McLaren driver who seems to increasingly challenge the Dutchman race after race even fairly.

The McLarens are faster and faster.

This Sunday at Imola, the two McLaren drivers showed a fast and agile side. From the start, Oscar Piastri, starting 5th on the grid after being penalized, didn’t hesitate to put immense pressure on Carlos Sainz. The McLaren driver took risks, especially by deciding to pit earlier than planned and perform an undercut on the Spaniard. A strategy that paid off as the young driver managed to overtake the Ferrari driver and cross the finish line in fourth place behind Max Verstappen, his teammate Lando Norris, and Charles Leclerc.

On the British side, he was able to demonstrate once again this determination to win. A perfectly controlled behavior and a reduced gap at the end of the race on the leader. A well-deserved second place and a new appointment on May 26th in Monaco this time to go for that third place in the general classification this season by taking Sergio Perez’s place.
