Jos Verstappen believes that the Red Bull era “seems to be over” after Monaco
Jos Verstappen has dealt Red Bull another blow after his poor performance in Monaco, with the world champion's father openly criticizing the team once again.

Jos Verstappen stated that Red Bull’s era of dominance seems to be over now, after Max Verstappen could only finish sixth at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Red Bull struggled to find speed all weekend in the principality, and Verstappen experienced his worst performance on track since the 2022 São Paulo Grand Prix. The Dutchman brushed the barrier on the exit of turn 1 during his last lap in Q3, leaving him only sixth. The situation was much worse on the other side of the garage, where Sergio Perez was eliminated in Q1.
Verstappen’s lead has been reduced to just 31 points in the drivers’ championship. In an interview with the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Jos Verstappen took a swipe at the Austrian team, stating that they should focus a bit more on the race rather than on other things. The former F1 driver is notably referring to the issues related to Christian Horner.
« The era when Red Bull had the dominant car seems to be really over now,” said Jos Verstappen. « Maybe they should start focusing more on the racing and mutual communication again, rather than on other things… There will definitely be races where Red Bull will be strong again, but I am very curious to see how they will solve this. Something really needs to happen there.”
The team experienced weaknesses in Monaco. Red Bull must find out where this problem comes from, because it is clear that teams like Ferrari and McLaren are getting closer. Max has been able to hide this somewhat again, but the big difference with Sergio Perez is becoming more and more evident.
Red Bull seems to struggle on circuits that require tight cornering or are bumpy, which explains their lack of form in Miami and Monaco, and to a lesser extent in Imola.
