There were rumors circulating about driver transfers at Alpine, particularly with the recent disagreements between Ocon and the French team. The team announced its departure at the end of the season in a statement this Monday. This will mark the end of a partnership after five years together, during which they won the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2021.

Esteban Ocon: « This has been an important period of my life to race for this team in Formula 1. Although I have been here for five years as a full-time race driver, my professional career began in Enstone when I was a teenager, so it will always be a special place for me. We have had great moments together, tough moments as well, and I am certainly grateful to everyone in the team for these memorable times. I will announce my plans very soon but, in the meantime, I am fully focused on performance on track for this team and on the success of the rest of the season. »

Team Director Bruno Famin declares: “First and foremost, we would like to thank Esteban for his commitment to the team over the past five years. During his time with us, we have celebrated some fantastic moments together, the best being the memorable victory at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix. We still have 16 races to compete in together in 2024 with a clear objective: to continue working tirelessly as a team to achieve the best results on the track. We wish Esteban the best for the next chapter of his racing career when the time comes.”

For now, no information is available regarding Pierre Gasly’s future teammate or Esteban Ocon’s future team.
