Lando Norris elected driver of the day in Canada
Lando Norris dazzled everyone during the Canadian Grand Prix. Between strategy, risks, and promising pace, the McLaren driver stepped onto the 2nd step of the podium. A performance that once again earned him the title of driver of the day.

Starting in third position on the grid, Lando Norris finishes in second place, behind Max Verstappen. The McLaren driver steps onto the podium for the fifth time this season. (Australia (3rd), China (2nd), his very first victory in Formula 1 in Miami (1st), Emilia-Romagna (2nd)). After a race marked by many twists and two safety car deployments, the British driver managed the race very cleverly from start to finish. Battling with George Russell and Max Verstappen, he first performed a magical move by overtaking the two leaders. Trapped by the safety car deployed following Logan Sargent’s crash, stuck in the middle of the track, Lando Norris ultimately lost his lead, allowing the championship leader, Max Verstappen, to pass him.
A war to the checkered flag
The 24-year-old man then fought hard to maintain his second place. A remarkable performance that once again earns him the title of driver of the day. Lando Norris scores 18 points and strengthens his third place in the drivers’ overall standings with 131 points behind Max Verstappen (194 points) and Charles Leclerc (138 points).
A new meeting awaits the Brit in 15 days at the Spanish Grand Prix. His teammate, Oscar Piastri, also had a good race and finished fifth in this Canadian Grand Prix. He scored an additional 10 points and now stands sixth in the overall standings with 81 points. McLaren is having a very strong season with points finishes, several podiums, and increasing pressure on the other drivers, especially those at the front who are battling it out race after race with the two drivers.
