Drivers’ standings after the Spanish Grand Prix
Another victory for Max Verstappen at the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday. The Dutchman consolidates his lead in the overall standings, Lando Norris becomes runner-up, with Charles Leclerc in the top 3.

The Spanish Grand Prix allowed Max Verstappen to once again achieve two consecutive victories. After his win in Canada, he is once again on the highest step of the podium at the Barcelona circuit. This victory earns him 25 points and keeps him in the lead in the overall drivers’ standings this season with a total of 219 points. However, the three-time world champion has a new runner-up, Lando Norris. Following his podium finish this Sunday in Spain, the British driver moves into second place in the championship, overtaking Charles Leclerc with 150 points. As for Ferrari, the team is second in the constructor’s championship and their drivers are in third place for the Monegasque and fourth place for Carlos Sainz with 116 points after finishing sixth this Sunday at the end of the race.
First podium for Lewis Hamilton this season
Starting third on the grid, Lewis Hamilton was quickly overtaken by his teammate George Russell this Sunday. But this time, he managed to have the last word and pull off a magnificent overtake on the 52nd lap. The Mercedes driver steps onto the podium for the first time this season behind Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. With an additional 15 points this weekend, the seven-time world champion ranks eighth in the overall standings with 70 points.
Alpine in the points!
For once, we have not one but two Alpines in the points at the end of the Spanish Grand Prix. A very good weekend for our two French drivers, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, who started seventh and ninth respectively on the starting grid. They confirmed their return to form and achieved good positions by crossing the finish line, ninth for Pierre Gasly and tenth for Esteban Ocon. The two French drivers are therefore 16th and 17th in the general standings this season.
