Mercedes and Adidas are moving towards a partnership for 2025
The German manufacturer is reportedly on the verge of reaching an agreement with the sportswear brand created by Adolf Dassler starting from the 2025 season. According to some German media, everything is now in place.

The German team continues to be in the spotlight. After winning the last Grand Prix in Austria with George Russell, it is behind the scenes that Mercedes is attracting curiosity with a partnership that would be well on its way with Adidas for next year. The director of the German company, Bjørn Gulden, has also spoken out on the matter and declares his interest in Formula 1.
« Formula 1 is a sport that is experiencing strong growth, including among the younger generations. We are in discussions with several teams. Most Formula 1 contracts run until 2026, so I hope we can reach a conclusion.
The latest rumors, spread by the German media, even suggest that an agreement has already been reached between the two parties for an amount of 11 million euros annually. As of 2025, Adidas will outfit the Mercedes Formula 1 team. The sportswear manufacturer has already presented the first models to the team, it is said.
Indeed, some sources mention that fictitious team jerseys for next year were spotted during the Austrian Grand Prix last weekend, illustrating the recent rapprochement between the two German companies. Even though no actual agreement has been signed so far and Mercedes itself has refused to comment further on the matter.
The German brand with the three parallel stripes will therefore end its partnership of several years with the German football team and will be replaced by Nike by 2027. Soon after, rumors intensified of a potential Adidas-Mercedes partnership as early as next year.
An agreement necessary to cope with certain departures
This association was necessary for Mercedes, who, with Lewis Hamilton’s departure for Ferrari in 2025, will lose two of its major sponsors: Puma, brought together with Mercedes by Gulden when he was the director of Puma, and Tommy Hilfiger. Nevertheless, the situation of the latter is still uncertain since it would seem that, in case the clothing brand of the American stylist were to leave Mercedes, it would not join Hamilton in Italy.
To be honest, I don’t know what the team is planning. But Ferrari has its own plans. That’s why they won’t come to Ferrari with us, particularly stated the Briton in recent weeks regarding this potential partnership.
With this, Mercedes wants to show that it still has a very strong commercial value even without their star driver Lewis Hamilton and demonstrates that it is already preparing for the changes that are coming to the team.
