Sauber continues to recruit heavily in F1, Andretti too
Throughout the year, many Formula 1 teams are recruiting staff for their teams. Recently, Sauber returned to the race by offering around 15 jobs, in addition to numerous other opportunities, mainly with the arrival of Audi in 2026. Here's a quick look at the current vacancies.
Formula 1 offers a multitude of job opportunities throughout the year for car enthusiasts. Teams, whether renowned like Red Bull, Williams, or Sauber, are constantly looking for new members to maintain their teams and their performances.
Although some positions are accessible to those with less experience, the majority of available jobs are reserved for technical engineers. This week, Sauber unveiled 15 new job offers that may coincide with the mid-season summer break that will arrive in a few weeks. Working in Formula 1 is an opportunity reserved for a limited number of people, so it is a chance to take stock of the job offers available.
The Kick Sauber team offers 26 jobs, including 15 added this week, for the headquarters in Hinwil in German-speaking Switzerland (next to Zurich). The positions range from mechanics, engineers, technicians, and notably a marketing director, in anticipation of Audi’s arrival in 2026.
Andretti, who had applied as the 11th F1 team starting from 2025 and whose application was rejected by Liberty Media, continues on its side its Formula 1 program, despite this situation. The American team is setting up in England to develop its F1 program and is recruiting more than 40 people at their Silverstone site, next to the circuit. There are jobs for engineers and technicians. It is worth noting that Pat Fry, former engineer at Renault and notably with experience at the FIA, is currently heading the technical direction of this potential future F1 team in the championship.
The other available positions in Formula 1
In addition to Sauber and Andretti, the other Formula 1 teams are currently recruiting around a hundred people.
Williams Racing is currently looking for new employees for its English site in Grove. A large majority of the jobs are for engineering positions, but there are also marketing and social media management roles available.
McLaren and Racing Bulls both offer around fifteen jobs in their company. Like the other teams, the main areas of employment are engineering and mechanics, but Racing Bulls also allows for spontaneous applications on their website in Italy. As for the McLaren team, they offer training to take your first steps in Formula 1 in their Early Careers Pathway program for those who wish to join the world of motorsport without any current skills.
Alpine is opening positions in Enstone, United Kingdom, but also in Viry-Châtillon, France. In the same sectors, Alpine also offers jobs in finance, as well as a quality inspector position on weekends in Enstone. These jobs will be available starting in 2024.
Teams such as Red Bull, Haas, Mercedes, and Aston Martin offer a limited number of job opportunities as engineers, technicians, and mechanics.
Note that other jobs are available within the structures of Formula 1 and the FIA. With positions in engineering, development, marketing, and accounting, but also at Andretti, a team that has not yet joined Formula 1, but rumors continue to intensify. They offer about forty positions for other motorsports such as Indycar, Indy Nxt, Formula E, and IMSA.
