Canal+ confirms Esteban Ocon’s arrival at Haas in 2025
On Friday, Canal+ confirmed Julien Fébreau's comments concerning Esteban Ocon's future. Announced as joining Haas, the French driver's official move to 2025 will take place by Wednesday July 24, 2024.
Haas confirmed the departure of Kevin Magnussen this Friday, at the end of the 2024 season. The Danish driver will therefore be without a seat next season.
If the announcement of Esteban Ocon’s arrival at Haas was supposed to take place this Friday just after, a synchronization issue probably related to the coordination of the two teams, it will finally be done at the beginning of next week, before the Belgian Grand Prix.
According to Julien Fébreau, close to the French driver, the official announcement will be postponed to the beginning of next week.
« We are not worried about Esteban Ocon, it will be a matter of formalization and it will be done at the beginning of next week and in Spa we will have plenty of questions to ask him. » confirms the Canal+ commentator.
Haas has confirmed the arrival of Ollie Bearman, the young driver who replaced Carlos Sainz at Ferrari at the beginning of the season as the second driver, in place of Nico Hülkenberg who will be moving to Sauber (Audi).
Rumors were sending Esteban Ocon for the remainder of the season at Williams, replacing Logan Sargeant. If Ocon’s formalization is thus “certain” for 2025 at Haas, the mid-season move to Williams seems unlikely.
