The last race before the summer break, the Belgian Grand Prix hosts the 14th round of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship this weekend. We take this opportunity to review the key figures for the Belgian round.

20: Like the number of corners of the Spa Francorchamps circuit. A historic Formula 1 track, some of these corners have become legendary over the years, such as the Source hairpin at turn 1, the Raidillon uphill climb, and Blanchimont.

6: With his 6 victories at the Flat Country, Michael Schumacher is still the record holder on this circuit. He outperforms the Brazilian legend Ayrton Senna with his 5 wins. To complete the podium, a trio of world champions with 4 victories composed of Jim Clark, Kimi Räikkönen, and Lewis Hamilton.

4: On the current grid, only 4 drivers have already celebrated victory in Belgian lands. Lewis Hamilton, therefore, crowned 4 times (2010, 2015, 2017, and 2020), is followed by Max Verstappen who is one win away and triumphed in the last three editions. Daniel Ricciardo (2014) and Charles Leclerc (2019) complete this quartet of winners. 1:41.252: The fastest lap ever recorded at Spa Francorchamps. It is credited to Lewis Hamilton for his pole position in 2020 behind the wheel of his formidable Mercedes.

Indeed, under a frightful deluge, the Grand Prix became the shortest in history by being stopped with the red flag after only 3 short laps, never to resume after spectators had waited for long hours in the rain in the stands. 69th: This weekend will host the 69th edition of the Belgian Grand Prix as part of the Formula 1 World Championship. The Belgian Grand Prix is simply the 4th most hotly contested event since the creation of the World Championship in 1950, behind the British, Italian, and Monaco Grand Prix. It will be the 57th edition at the Spa Francorchamps circuit, with Formula 1 having regularly visited Zolder in the 1970s and Nivelles twice.
