Max Verstappen: “The race promises to be difficult”
Relegated to more than three tenths behind Lando Norris, the Red Bull driver believes it will be difficult to catch the McLaren driver in the race.

We did not expect him to be at such a party. Overtaken by McLaren and Mercedes during the Friday session, Max Verstappen showed that he should not be ruled out of the race for victory on his home turf in Zandvoort. By managing to place himself between Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, the triple world champion will try to remain undefeated on the shores of the North Sea.
« I had balance issues during qualifying and we lacked a bit of pace. » begins the Dutchman. « I hadn’t thought I could be in the fight for pole position so I am satisfied. »
Despite his second place on the grid, the Red Bull driver considers that he might struggle to keep up with Norris’s pace.
With this gap, the race looks tough. Lando is very fast. I have no doubt that he has the potential to fight for the world championship.
The fight for the title is far from over this season. With a 78-point gap between Verstappen and Norris in the championship and ten races left to be contested, not to mention the three Sprints that will take place in Austin, Sao Paulo, and Losail, nothing is set in stone yet.
