As Ferrari prepares for its home race at the Monza circuit, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have finally unveiled their special helmets for the Italian Grand Prix. These new helmets will be in Ferrari colors and will display the same carbon fiber pattern as the suits.

Completely opposite colors

The information had already been announced through the Ferrari press release, the two team drivers will use a different design for their helmets during the Grand Prix. This week, the team had already unveiled its special clothing and some modifications to its livery. The weekend’s celebrations pay tribute to carbon fiber, a material widely used in modern Formula 1 cars.

If both helmets opt for the Italian flag, Charles Leclerc’s is much less colorful. He sports a completely black carbon look as opposed to Carlos Sainz who preferred the traditional Ferrari yellow in tribute to the city of Modena, where the founder comes from. While neither the Monegasque driver nor the Spanish driver has made any public comments about his helmet, Carlos Sainz had taken advantage of the press conference to speak about his departure from Ferrari.

One thing I will never forget is when I did my first lap at Fiorano in red. And then, of course, my first Monza,” he said. “Certainly, my pole position here and my podium last year, seeing all these people dressed in red, all singing and shouting my name, is something that has stayed with me and will remain so, even in 40, 50 years, when I will talk about it to my grandchildren.”

For Ferrari, the Italian Grand Prix at Monza is much more than just a race as it welcomes a large part of the tifosi. This weekend, with new colors, Ferrari could find its way to victory after a pole position from Charles Leclerc in Zandvoort.
