Red Bull changes program for Singapore without its special livery
Red Bull Racing had planned to surprise the Singapore Grand Prix with a brand-new livery, designed by its fans. However, in the midst of a search for performance after several complicated races, the team had to revise its plans. The design, deemed too heavy due to the paintwork, was abandoned to maximize the chances of success on the demanding urban circuit.
The Milton Keynes team also planned to sport a new design for this Singapore Grand Prix. Struggling with performance difficulties in recent weeks, the Austrian brand ultimately decided to abandon it to maximize its chances in the race.
The team led by Christian Horner indeed realized that the livery was adding too much weight to their single-seaters. The decision was made to dedicate all Oracle Red Bull Racing’s resources to on-track performance in F1 Singapore, and therefore, the RB20 will not feature a special livery due to the additional weight that this livery would have caused with the paint, Red Bull stated in its release.
This livery was supposed to be displayed as part of the REBL CUSTMS program. It offered the brand’s fans a unique design. One of them, after the vote of his community, was supposed to be honored in Singapore.
