Singapore Race 1: New podium for Doriane Pin, new victory for Abbi Pulling in F1 Academy
The F1 Academy competed in its first race this Saturday morning in Singapore. British driver supported by Alpine, Abbi Pulling, wins another victory and maintains her 100% podium statistic in 2024. French driver Doriane Pin finishes 3rd, just behind Maya Wueng.
The first race of the F1 Academy, with these 20 female drivers competing for the championship aboard Formula 4 cars, was won by Abbi Pulling, the Alpine-backed driver. Maya Weug, supported by Ferrari, finished second and Dorian Pin, supported by Mercedes, finished on the podium. The podium remained unchanged from the starting grid.
A rather uneventful race, at least that’s what we saw during this first F1 Academy race. The drivers were serious and the positions haven’t changed since the starting grid, except for a few position swaps.
The only driver to have lost a lot of positions is Bianca Bustamante, who, by positioning herself poorly on the starting grid, was penalized with a 10-second stop-and-go penalty. She therefore restarted from last position in this 30-minute race.
The second Frenchwoman on the F1 Academy grid finishes 11th, Lola Lovinfosse gaining one position over Bianca Bustamante.
At the championship, Abbi Pulling easily keeps the lead with her 6 victories in 9 races. Dorian Pin is in second place. There are still 5 races to be held this season, including the next one, this Sunday morning in Singapore, where Dorian Pin will start second, just behind Abbi Pulling.
