During the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix, Williams Racing was forced to break a curfew set up by the FIA to protect the health of the employees.
The Formula 1 Technical Delegate’s report revealed that members of the Williams Racing team were present inside the circuit for a period of twelve and a half hours before the scheduled start of the third free practice session.
According to the current rules, teams are only allowed two individual exceptions for such a situation during the Formula 1 Championship season. In this specific case, it was the second exception granted to the Williams Racing team, which means that no disciplinary action will be taken against them.
This is the second of the two permissions allowed for the Williams team explains the FIA’s technical delegate Jo Bauer in a statement. This is the last joker for the Grove team which will not have any other possibilities for the remaining 6 races of the season.
