Esteban Ocon fatalistic after his 13th place in Singapore
For the fourth consecutive race without scoring points, the Alpine driver could only observe that his car did not currently allow him to enter the top ten positions.

Starting 15th, three places ahead of his teammate Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon had high hopes of having a good race and perhaps even scoring some points if the race turned chaotic. Without a safety car for the first time in Marina Bay’s history, the Singapore Grand Prix ultimately did not bring satisfaction to the French driver.
« Regularly, this car does not allow us to score points. We didn’t have the speed, which is a bit disappointing because we thought it would be better than the previous races but clearly, it wasn’t enough. We were losing pace on (Yuki) Tsunoda in front of us, we finished too far from the Williams. We simply didn’t have the grip in this race, » commented Ocon after crossing the finish line in 13th place.
Formula 1 will now take a four-week break before returning to the track in Austin for the United States Grand Prix on October 20th. A race during which several teams will bring new updates to their cars according to Ocon.
« We will continue working to try to seize the opportunities that we can later. There is a small break while waiting for the next race in the United States, so we hope that we can come back with a more competitive car. I think several teams will bring improvements to Austin. Everyone will have time to work on the cars by then. We will continue to work as usual, and there’s nothing more that I see that we can do. This weekend, we maximized what needed to be done, it’s sad but that’s how it is,” concludes fatalistically the future Haas F1 driver.
With five points on the board, Ocon is in 18th place in the drivers’ championship, three places and three points behind his teammate.
