Verstappen started the race from second place on the grid in Singapore and maintained his position throughout. Despite a strong performance, he was unable to challenge Norris for the lead at any point in the race. The Red Bull driver executed his pit stop strategy without any issues but found himself unable to close the gap with Norris.

Reviewing his race Verstappen declared, « I think it was pretty much my race alone. By trying to do my best, I tried to manage my own pace until the end. I think the first stint was a bit tough for us, with quite a bit of tire degradation. The second stint was a bit better. I was also a bit more comfortable. So yes, I think on a weekend where we knew we would struggle to be second, it’s a good achievement. Of course, we are not satisfied with second place. Now, we just have to try to improve more and more and that’s all I’m going to try to do. »

Regarding the championship standings, Verstappen has remained focused on the overall situation, “Yes, that’s true, but it can also change very quickly. So we have to keep trying, stick to it at some point, try to turn the situation around a bit, you know, without always finishing behind, but we will do it.” Commenting on the physical demands of the race, Verstappen added, “It’s always tough here, it’s hot and the race is generally very long. So I’m looking forward to resting a bit.” Although he maintains his lead in the championship at the Singapore Grand Prix, it has been reduced to 52 points, adding pressure to the remaining races of the season.
