After the United States Grand Prix, where Charles Leclerc triumphed, Max Verstappen remains at the top of the Formula 1 World Championship with 353 points, followed by Lando Norris and his 297 points. This victory allows Charles Leclerc to keep hope alive in his quest for the 2024 World Championship title. The Ferrari driver thrilled fans by winning this race. In the meantime, current championship leader Max Verstappen limited the damage by finishing third, just behind Carlos Sainz. The biggest loser of the weekend is undoubtedly Lando Norris, who saw many opportunities slip away and leaves Austin with a larger gap than when he arrived.

On the other drivers’ side, George Russell delivered a superb performance by finishing sixth, after starting from the pit lane following his accident in Saturday’s qualifying. He is now placed seventh in the overall standings with 167 points. Nico Hülkenberg also impressed. The Haas driver crossed the line in eighth place and now has 29 points in the standings, putting him in the top 10. It is also worth noting the performance of Franco Colapinto, who managed to secure the final point by finishing tenth with his Williams.

At Red Bull, a long-distance duel is taking shape between Liam Lawson and Sergio Pérez (150 points). Lawson, starting from the back of the grid, manages to finish ninth, while the Mexican only finishes seventh and seems to be facing more and more difficulties. This duel is all the more interesting as Lawson is in the running to replace Checo at Red Bull in 2025.

Finally, disappointment reigns on Pierre Gasly’s side, who only manages to secure twelfth place and just eight points in the overall driver standings. As for Esteban Ocon, he finishes in a modest eighteenth position as well as in the standings, although he managed to set the fastest lap in the race.

Constructor ranking, McLaren still ahead.

On the Constructors’ side, it is still McLaren who leads after the very nice performances of both drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. But Red Bull is not far behind with only a small 40-point gap. Completing the podium, Scuderia Ferrari is in third position with 496 points.

For the French team, they are far from their nice fourth place of last season. This year, with the numerous poor performances, Alpine is in eighth place ahead of Kick Sauber.
