Fernando Alonso suffering: he will miss the press day in Brazil
For the second consecutive weekend, Fernando Alonso will not participate in the Thursday press day in Brazil. Suffering from an intestinal infection, he is replaced by Felipe Drugovich, the reserve driver for Aston Martin. However, the team asserts that Alonso will be present as of Friday for the free practice sessions.

Aston Martin recently confirmed that Fernando Alonso will not participate in the Thursday press day, as the Spanish driver is once again experiencing health issues. As a reminder, he also missed the Thursday session in Mexico for the same reasons.
Despite this situation, the team remains optimistic and asserts that he will be able to compete in the races starting on Friday: Fernando Alonso will miss his media activities in Brazil. He suffered from a gastrointestinal infection before the Mexico Grand Prix. He has returned to Europe to receive additional care from a specialist. This extra treatment day has delayed his travel plans to Brazil, but ensures he will be ready for the race this weekend.
In the event that Alonso is not able to participate in the Grand Prix, it is Felipe Drugovich, the reserve driver for Aston Martin, who could have the opportunity to make his race debut.
Drugovich had already replaced Lance Stroll, Alonso’s teammate, during last year’s pre-season testing after the Canadian’s injury following a bicycle accident. However, Stroll had managed to recover sufficiently to take part in the first race of the season.
Since the Brazilian Grand Prix takes place in a sprint format, if Drugovich were to replace Alonso, he would only have an hour to get used to the car before taking part in the two qualifying sessions.
