Aston Martin has just announced that Dan Fallows, its current Technical Director, will no longer hold this position as from this month, without specifying his new role. Dan Fallows previously worked at Red Bull and joined Aston Martin two seasons ago as part of Lawrence Stroll’s ambitious project to turn the Silverstone team into a Formula 1 team capable of becoming world champion.
With the announcement of the arrival of Adrian Newey, also coming from Red Bull, the team could have found a technical configuration very similar to the way Fallows and Newey had at Red Bull. However, Adrian Newey is not arriving as a simple staff member. He is now also a shareholder and his power within the team is now elevated to a higher level. Apparently Dan Fallows did not fit into the plan made by Adrian Newey since his role will now be different.
« The Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 team andTechnical Director Dan Fallows have jointly announced today that as of November, Dan will no longer be the Technical Director of the Formula 1 team. However Dan will continue to work within the Group. » explains the very brief statement from Aston Martin.
« I would like to thank Dan for his contribution to Aston Martin over the past two years. Dan led the team to the success of the AMR23, which achieved eight podium finishes last season. » explains Andy Cowell, CEO of Aston Martin.
Dan Fallows also reacted officially by explaining that it was time to pass on the torch: “During my time at Aston Martin, it was a joy and a privilege to guide the technical team in their progress towards victory in races and championships. It is time for me to pass the baton, but I look forward to witnessing the team’s future successes, which I am certain will come very soon.”
The team did not specify Dan Fallows’ new role, but it is likely that he will be recruited by another team in the coming weeks.
