Williams Racing announced a partnership with Zoox, a company specializing in autonomous vehicles owned by the Amazon group. Starting in 2025 and beyond, Zoox will be active in Las Vegas, Austin, and Miami, three cities where Zoox’s autonomous technology is currently being tested. Zoox will begin welcoming its first passengers in its custom-designed robotaxi in Las Vegas as early as 2025. The press release details.
Zoox, which is developing a robotaxi designed to offer a unique transport experience, and places great emphasis on the passenger, becomes the official regional partner of Williams Racing as part of a multi-season agreement (typically at least two seasons when marketing services use the term “multi-year”).
The Zoox logo will appear on the Williams car during races in the United States, starting with the Las Vegas Grand Prix, where Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto will driver the FW46. Fans will also have the opportunity to discover a Zoox robotaxi at the Fan Zone of the New York-New York hotel during the race week.
Williams, in addition to Duracell, Kraken, and Gulf, seems to be attracting more and more sponsors. As a reminder, the team was on the verge of bankruptcy when it was sold by the Williams family to the investment group Dorilton Capital in 2020. 4 years later, the team is doing very well, despite results that are still far from the front.
Amazon is getting more and more involve in Formula One with last year deal between Amazon Music and Alpine.
