Jack Doohan reveals his permanent number for his F1 career
Pierre Gasly's future teammate at Alpine will take over the number of a renowned Formula 1 world champion who has not been seen on the starting grid for three seasons.

It is on the occasion of the Las Vegas Grand Prix that Alpine and Jack Doohan decided to unveil the future race number of the Australian driver who will make his debut as a full-time driver in 2025. In a video probably shot in a casino in the city of vice, the son of five-time 500cc motorcycle world champion Mick Doohan reveals that he has chosen to race with number 7.
Translate: « Number 7 will be my race number for the 2025 season. I’m super excited to go racing with this number. I already used it in 2019 and one of my idols, a very special person and driver, Kimi Räikkönen, also raced with this number. I can’t wait to continue the story of this number and make it mine » said the one who finished 3rd in the Formula 2 championship in 2023.
When the FIA imposed in 2014 to the drivers to choose a race number for their entire F1 career, Kimi Räikkönen had chosen the number 7, a number he had already used the previous season at Lotus. From 2014 to 2018 at Ferrari and then from 2019 to 2021 at Alfa Romeo, the 2007 world champion wore this number with which he thus won his last victory in F1 in Austin, during the United States Grand Prix 2018.
Let’s wish Jack Doohan to shine again with this number next season with Alpine.
