The official starting grid of the F1 Grand Prix of Las Vegas 2024
A few hours before the start of the antepenultimate Grand Prix of the season, the FIA has proposed a very official but still provisional starting grid for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Indeed, Franco Colapinto's Williams could be among the absentees after the Argentine's big crash in qualifying.
On the eve in France of one of the last Grand Prix of the season 2024 Formula 1, the FIA has published the final result of the starting grid of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Author of the pole position, George Russell will start in first place this Sunday morning in France (start at 7 a.m.), Saturday evening in the USA. He is ahead on the front row of the Ferrari of Carlos SainzJr.
The second row will be composed of the Frenchman Pierre Gasly, on Alpine, who achieves an astonishing third position considering the poor performances of the A524 this season. He will be alongside Charles Leclerc in the other Ferrari.
The third row will be explosive. The triple world champion, Max Verstappen, will start 5th ahead of his title rival, Lando Norris, in 6th position. Needless to say, all eyes will be on the two men who can seal their season from the start. Yuki Tsunoda is 7th with the Racing Bulls. He is ahead on his right of the second McLaren, that of Oscar Piastri. The fifth row is signed by Nico Hülkenberg, who leads Lewis Hamilton.
In this first part of the grid, no changes compared to the qualifying session are to be reported. However, at the back of the grid, Valtteri Bottas, who had set the second-to-last time, will start last.
However, there is still one question remaining: will Franco Colapinto, victim of a huge accident, be able to start the race and will the car be in a drivable condition?
