Lance Stroll had to race without a radio in Las Vegas
Lance Stroll encountered an unexpected problem during the Las Vegas Grand Prix, where his team radio remained out of service throughout the race, forcing him to handle the situation with more traditional methods.

Aston Martin and Lance Stroll had to improvise in the face of the absence of radio communication during the Las Vegas Grand Prix. A particularly worrying situation, especially in case of a Safety Car at the beginning of the race. A perspective dreaded by Lance Stroll, while his teammate Fernando Alonso, starting on soft tires, was precisely counting on such an opportunity.
Lance did not have a radio throughout the race, said Ted Kravitz, journalist at Sky Sports F1. It’s a bit of a problem when you know he started at the back of the grid and needed to move up. They had to communicate with Lance in the old-fashioned way, with signs on the pit wall, to tell him when to come in and change the different buttons they wanted him to change.
Fernando Alonso qualified in 17th position and Lance Stroll was at the back of the grid. The Spaniard managed to climb up to thirteenth place at the end of his first stint, before putting on a set of hard tires and making one last stop. He ultimately did not manage to get into the points, as he collided with the Red Bull of Sergio Perez (10th). Alonso missed out on entering the points by six seconds.
Lance Stroll, on his side, finished in 15th position, without radio. At this end of the season, the stakes are low for Aston Martin, in fifth place in the World Championship.
