It is now official: the legendary Monza Grand Prix will remain on the Formula 1 calendar for the years to come. While speculation about its renewal was rife, an agreement has been reached with F1 to allow one of the most popular Grand Prix races among fans and drivers to continue until 2031.

Monza is the last circuit to have concluded a new agreement with F1 for the seasons to come. Just before him, it was the Monaco Grand Prix that had secured its future in the top category, with a new five-year contract signed earlier this month.

Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1, did not fail to express his enthusiasm following the signing of this new contract: “I am delighted that the Italian Grand Prix will remain on the calendar until 2031. Monza is at the heart of Formula 1 history, and the atmosphere each year is unique as the Tifosi gather in large numbers to support Ferrari and the drivers. The recent improvements to the circuit’s infrastructure and the planned investments demonstrate a strong commitment to the long-term future of Formula 1 in Italy. I would like to thank the president of the Automobile Club of Italy, the Italian government, and the Lombardy region for their constant passion and commitment to our sport. I also want to pay tribute to our incredible fans across the country who support Formula 1 with such fervor.”

Monza has a long history with F1, having made its first appearance on the calendar in 1950 during the very first World Championship. Since then, it has hosted the Italian Grand Prix every year, except in 1980, due to renovation work.

This historic circuit is therefore not about to leave the world of Formula 1, much to our delight.
