The announcement has annoyed many people. This Saturday, November 30, Alpine announced that Paul Aron would be the next reserve driver for the team. Some observers criticized this choice as the team has other talents, including Frenchman Victor Martins.

Finally, it is Paul Aron who has been chosen. The British driver is currently under contract with Hitech in F2, the former team of Oliver Oakes, the director of Alpine.

« We are very happy that Paul has joined the team as a reserve driver for 2025. Formula 1 is currently going through a generational shift, as evidenced by the many young drivers coming into the sport and making their mark. We believe that Paul is one of the best talents, and we are looking forward to seeing him become an F1 driver », highlighted Flavio Briatore, executive director.

« It is incredibly special to join Alpine. It is clear that it is an ideal place for any young driver and I am very happy that Flavio and Oliver [Oakes] have given me this opportunity. Before 2025 and the hard work involved in being the team’s reserve driver, I must focus on the championship until the end of the year and I will give everything I have to fight for the title. I am looking forward to starting work and continuing my career in motorsport,” adds the main person concerned in this announcement.
