An old Williams is up for auction
Jacques Villeneuve's 1998 Williams is up for auction. The price is not very high.

A rather original red color for a Williams. The number 1 of the world champion. And yet, it should go for around €300,000. This is, in any case, what is suggested by the estimates from RM Sotheby’s, the house that is offering Jacques Villeneuve’s 1998 season Williams FW20 at auction.
Proposed for sale by Williams Heritage, this FW20-03 is eligible for historical races and demonstrations, in addition to being a significant addition to any collection dedicated to motorsport. Please note that in its current form, this car is not in running condition. You can refer to the historical file of this FW20 for a list of required elements », as stated in the online ad.
Third in the Constructors’ Championship
This chassis, number 3, was used in three races: in Australia, Argentina, and San Marino. It was then reserved for test drivers, including Pablo Montoya, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Alex Zanardi, and Max Wilson.
This single-seater is equipped with a 3-liter V10 Mecachrome engine capable of reaching 16,000 rpm, the car enabled the team to secure third place in the world championship, thanks to Jacques Villeneuve and his teammate Heinz-Harald Frentzen.
The sale will take place in Paris on February 4th and 5th.
