Carlos Sainz recalls his memorable moments with Ferrari
Carlos Sainz recently reminisced about his favorite memories of his four years at Ferrari. He will start 2025 at Williams, alongside Alex Albon.

The Spaniard mentioned each of the victories he achieved with the team as being very emotional and also highlighted that his very first run for Scuderia Ferrari was particularly special.
Carlos Sainz had joined Ferrari in 2021, replacing Sebastian Vettel as the new teammate of Charles Leclerc. Over the following seasons, the 30-year-old driver achieved 25 podiums, six pole positions, and four wins.
Carlos Sainz nostalgic about his adventure with Ferrari
His adventure with the Italian team ended with the arrival of Lewis Hamilton in 2025, forcing Carlos Sainz to seek another seat. He eventually decided to join Williams and, on this occasion, he fondly recalled the moments shared with Ferrari.
« It’s very difficult to choose one of the four victories as the most unforgettable, because they are all relatively similar in certain ways… Four very different victories, but all very moving », explained Carlos Sainz during his last weekend as a Ferrari driver in Abu Dhabi. « Silverstone [in 2022], because it was the first, and the first one is never forgotten. Singapore [in 2023], because that year, winning in Singapore was quite special, given the way we won that race. »
A spectacular race for the Spaniard. « Australia [in 2024], because I was coming back from a tough winter and an appendicitis, and suddenly, I won, which was very emotional. And then Mexico, because at that moment, it could have been my last victory. My mother was there, all my family, my friends were present to see me win, and it was really special. »
In parallel, Carlos Sainz mentioned a moment that will forever remain etched in his memory: « Driving a Ferrari for the first time coming out of the pits at Fiorano. It’s something that will stay with me forever. It was probably, among moments of success or great emotions, one of the most special. »
A challenging 2024 season
Although his time at Ferrari has been marked by many happy memories, Carlos Sainz also acknowledged that the 2024 season has not always been easy. He had previously admitted that decisions about his future in F1 had caused him « a bit of stress ».
“It has been a difficult year in general, with a lot going on behind the scenes,” he conceded. “I think I can be quite satisfied, quite proud of the way I handled each situation throughout the year and how I managed to push myself to the end of the season, still in good shape and ready to fight for [the Constructors’ Championship].”
