Dakar 2025 – Stage 10: Nani Roma wins, new change of overall leader
The winner of the 2004 motorcycle and 2014 car editions reminded everyone of his achievements with his first stage win in ten years.

The day after the first victory of the Dacia Sandrider at the Dakar, it’s now the Ford Raptor’s turn to open its record at the world’s largest rally-raid. While Carlos Sainz was expected to shine for the blue oval brand this year, it was actually Nani Roma who brought the American manufacturer its first stage victory.
Ten years after his last victory when the rally was held in South America, one of the three drivers in history to have won the Dakar on both motorcycle and car (like Hubert Auriol and Stéphane Peterhansel) finished ahead of Lucas Moraes’ Toyota and the Challenger driver Dania Akeel. It must be said that in the imposing Saudi dunes, smaller vehicles were particularly comfortable. That’s why several drivers from lower categories (Challenger, SSV) find themselves at the front.
You have to go down in the rankings to find trace of the favorites. Due to a navigation error in the first few kilometers, Nasser Al-Attiyah has likely lost all chances of winning a sixth Dakar. The Dacia driver is still half an hour behind the leader.
Leader named Henk Lategan once again. After losing the lead yesterday, the Toyota driver took advantage of Yazeed Al Rajhi’s difficulties to reclaim his position, which he had only lost for one stage. With now nearly a 2’27” lead over his closest competitor, Lategan has a great opportunity to win his first Dakar. However, he will need to be cautious of the 275 kilometers of dunes awaiting him tomorrow, which won’t offer any favors.
