Netflix reveals the release date for season 7 of Drive to Survive: 1 week before the first F1 race
On March 7, 2025, the seventh season of Drive to Survive premieres on Netflix with an explosive look back at the 2024 season, just before the start of the 2025 F1 season.

If you are a fan of Formula 1, you have undoubtedly heard of Drive to Survive. The Netflix documentary series, which has turned F1 into a global phenomenon, returns for a seventh season and it promises to be incredible. Mark the date: March 7, 2025. Just before the Australian Grand Prix (March 14-16). The perfect timing to get back into the groove before the season begins! Tom Hutchings, executive producer of Box to Box Films, himself says: “The 2024 season was incredible, both on and off the track, and the action is already well underway before the first race in Bahrain. Expect more drama and fun in the paddock this season, as well as a few surprises.”
What will be addressed
As always, *Drive to Survive* takes us behind the scenes of the 2024 season, and this year, there was much to cover:
- Max Verstappen and Red Bull, relentless at the beginning, but with a much more contested end to the season than at the start
- The strong comeback of McLaren with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri
- Lewis Hamilton leaving Mercedes and his already legendary signing with Ferrari
- Charles Leclerc winning in Monaco and Monza
Tom Hutchings in Formula One promises moments of pure drama: « Discover the behind-the-scenes of teams competing for the best drivers on the market, experience a weekend with the drivers during the toughest race of the year, and expect a breathtaking finale until the last race ».
We know that *Drive to Survive* doesn’t have only fans. Some purists find that the series goes too far, that it artificially dramatizes rivalries… But it’s impossible to deny the enormous impact it has had on F1’s popularity. Netflix has turned the sport into an addictive series, especially in America, among young people and women. Many new fans discovered the sport thanks to the early seasons, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic: People who might never have thought about Formula 1 found themselves drawn into the tense and fast-paced world of open-wheel racing. Far from the in-depth technical analyses on engine performance or tire strategies, the series, which focuses more on human relationships and backstage tensions, has allowed many people to fall in love with the sport without knowing anything about aerodynamics.
Where and when to watch Season 7?
It’s simple: everything is released at once on Netflix on March 7, 2025. You’ll have 10 episodes to watch before the first Grand Prix of the season. And if you’re behind, the first 6 seasons are still available on the platform.
So, ready to dive back into the behind-the-scenes of F1? The official trailer for season 7 is coming soon, so keep an eye on your screens!
