Max Verstappen: From a Billion Dollars to His Own GT3 Team
Max Verstappen, four-time F1 world champion, recently took the wheel of an Aston Martin GT3 at Paul Ricard. Far from rumors of a transfer to Aston Martin in F1, the Dutchman reveals his ambitions to broaden his horizons towards the world of endurance racing, with the creation of a GT3 team.

Max Verstappen, four-time F1 world champion, was recently spotted driving an Aston Martin GT3 at the Paul Ricard circuit. This wasn’t a new test for an F1 car, but rather a nod to his ambitions to venture into the world of endurance racing. At the F1 75 event in London, Max Verstappen spoke to clarify the rumors swirling around him and Aston Martin, including one about a staggering billion-dollar contract to join the F1 team. “The only contact I’ve had with Aston Martin concerns the GT3 for this year. That’s all,” he stated, putting an end to the speculations about a transfer to the British team. These had gained momentum during the winter break, especially after rumors from the Daily Mail.
A new era for Aston Martin
With the arrival of new talents, notably Adrian Newey, a legendary F1 designer from Red Bull, and a Honda engine contract for 2026, Aston Martin is in full construction mode for the upcoming seasons. The project seems ambitious, and Max Verstappen’s name had surfaced as a potential target for the brand. However, the Dutchman quickly dampened the observers’ enthusiasm. An Aston Martin Aramco spokesperson categorically denied this story, the team officials stated during a press conference.
If the four-time world champion doesn’t seem in a hurry to embark on a new project with the British team, what he’s looking for instead is to expand his horizons beyond F1, notably in the field of endurance racing. His dream? To create his own GT3 team, and he seems more than determined to do so. “The first step is our own GT3 team, and then we’ll see where we end up,” revealed Verstappen in an interview with Formula One magazine. The Dutch champion mentioned his involvement in various series, such as DTM, GTWC Sprint, and even rallying, where he supports racing activities in collaboration with his father Jos and his friend Thierry Vermeulen. The short-term goal? To have a GT3 team in 2025, with a minimum of two cars. It’s yet another ambition for Verstappen, who adds, “Next year will be tight, but I’d like it to happen as soon as possible.”
Verstappen.com Racing: from Simulation to Reality
The Verstappen.com Racing project is not limited to ambitions in F1 racing; it also encompasses a more virtual aspect. As a fan of simulated racing, Max Verstappen made his debut with Team Redline in virtual racing. Today, he supports various racing activities for people close to him and wishes to expand his influence in motorsports. “We sponsor and support various racing activities for people who are close to me,” said the champion. Max Verstappen’s projects are as numerous as his F1 victories. While the rumor of a one-billion-dollar deal has fallen through, another, even more exciting one is taking shape. With a GT3 team on the starting blocks and increasingly strong ambitions in the endurance field, he seems ready to conquer new grounds.
Who knows, maybe the champion’s next big adventure won’t be in F1, but on endurance circuits!
