Lando Norris: “It was scary, but we managed to see it through”
Lando Norris once again demonstrated his consistency and mastery at the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix, taking a fine second place. Thanks to his performance, he contributed to McLaren's one-two finish, confirming the British team's competitiveness.

Qualified in third position behind his teammate Oscar Piastri and George Russell (Mercedes), Lando Norris was able to capitalize on his position right from the start of the race. An excellent start allowed him to quickly settle into second place, thus putting himself in an ideal position to maximize points.
A complicated sprint race
During the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix, Lando Norris experienced a sprint race full of twists and turns. After a difficult start, he dropped down the rankings at the beginning.
However, by adopting a clever strategy and maintaining a good pace, he managed to regain positions to finish in fourth place. This result allowed him to collect important points for the main race.
Intelligent race management
Throughout the race, Lando Norris maintained a strong pace while managing his tire wear. Despite brake issues towards the end of the race, he managed to hold off threats from the drivers behind him and secure a well-deserved podium.
« I had the start I was hoping for, but then George overtook me during the pit stops. I was a bit worried, but we were better in the second stint. Oscar drove very well, he deserved the victory. I’m happy with this second place, good points and an excellent result for the team with a one-two finish. »
« [The brake pedal] was my worst nightmare, I was losing 2, 3, 4 seconds in the last two laps. It was frightening, but we managed to get to the end, » explains the McLaren driver.
A positive result for the championship
With this second place, Lando Norris maintains the lead in the drivers’ championship, further strengthening McLaren’s competitiveness this season. His duel with Oscar Piastri could well be one of the key elements in the title fight in 2025.
This Chinese Grand Prix confirms the strong momentum of Lando Norris and his team. If McLaren continues this trend, the season could still hold pleasant surprises for the British driver.
