In the end, he crossed the finish line in fourth place, earning important points for Mercedes ahead of the main race.

In the race, George Russell was fast and consistent, finishing in a well-deserved third place behind the two McLaren drivers, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. He managed his tires and strategies to maximize his points, while remaining in the fight for victory throughout the event.

« It’s an excellent result, finishing in 3rd place. We knew that McLaren was a tiny bit faster than us, but these are crucial points. Right from the start, I felt that a one-stop strategy was possible, and it turned out to be easier than we expected. »

A great position in the championship

This podium allows George Russell to strengthen his position in the overall standings, where he is currently in third place, just a few points behind leader Lando Norris. This consistency could enable him to get closer to the championship leaders as the season progresses.
