An incident involving driver Nina Gademan interrupted the F1 Academy tests on the Jeddah Corniche circuit this Saturday, April 5.

The F1 Academy quickly issued a statement confirming that Gademan, driving the #3 car for the Alpine team, was transferred to the King Abdullah Medical Complex for precautionary checks.

Good news for the driver, she has been discharged from the hospital after all examinations turned out reassuring. However, as her car sustained significant damage, she will not participate in the last day of testing.

For Gademan, this season marks her debut in the F1 Academy. Following her participation as a guest at Zandvoort the previous year, the young Dutch driver competed in the first two races of the season in Shanghai two weeks ago, where she finished 15th and 10th respectively.

She completed a second test session that was more than conclusive, overtaking her opponents one by one on the first day. During the second day, Gademan was 2nd in the first session. In session 2, she took the lead, posting a time of 2:06’266”. The session was restarted twice due to red flags. With tires too cold or poor car control, Gademan hit the barrier at the exit of turn 5. The session was not restarted.
