Official: Mexican Grand Prix extended on F1 calendar
It was only a matter of days. Formula 1 announced today, Wednesday April 30, that the Mexican Grand Prix will be held for three more editions.

It was only a matter of days. Following the revelations from the head of the Mexico City government, Clara Brugada, Formula 1 has made the news official. The fastest cars on Earth will come to Mexico for three more years.
We are very excited to announce that Mexico will continue to be part of our calendar until 2028. F1 is about energy, passion, and emotion, and every year the unique atmosphere created by the Mexican fans is one of the most incredible of the season, celebrated Stefano Domenicali, the president of F1.
Many observers had concerns about the future of this event. After the non-renewal of Sergio Perez’s contract with Red Bull, the various authorities might have lost their motivation to maintain the Grand Prix.
This was ultimately not the case. The event is one of the most popular in South America. The geographical location of the Hermanos Rodriguez circuit, with other tracks like Austin, Miami, or even Brazil a bit further away, also didn’t impact the extension of this event.
