Max Verstappen missed the Miami press day for good reason
Max Verstappen only arrived in Miami on Friday, and therefore missed the traditional Thursday press day. But for good reason, as his daughter Lily was born.
To escape a press day ahead of a Grand Prix, you need excellent excuses to avoid the wrath of the FIA. Max Verstappen can play his get out of jail card since he wasn’t in Miami to attend the birth of his first daughter, named Lily. He therefore boarded his private jet on Thursday night to be present for the start of the track hostilities this Friday.
Max Verstappen thus becomes only the second driver on the grid to be a father, after Nico Hülkenberg. Naturally, he was asked about the topic during the official press conference: « I hope he is a good sleeper! We were quite lucky in that regard. There’s a lot to discover, many beautiful things coming. I’m sure he’s going to enjoy it. »
