Rain of penalties at the end of the Sprint race

The stewards were busy between the Sprint race and the start of qualifying: Alex Albon, Liam Lawson and Oliver Bearman all received five-second penalties.

It was one of the many standout moments of the Sprint race in Miami: Liam Lawson sent Fernando Alonso into a spin and into the wall. This triggered the arrival of the safety car and therefore brought the entire pack together. While Lando Norris was the main beneficiary, giving him the lead in the race, it had even more impacts for many drivers.

Liam Lawson is obviously one of the losers since his action on Fernando Alonso caused the application of a five-second penalty. But Alex Albon also received the same penalty for an infraction under the safety car. The Williams driver may have regrets because he had managed to snatch the five points for fourth place.

A direct rival of the Grove team, Oliver Bearman, did not take advantage of it as the Briton also received a five-second penalty for being unsafely released from the pits.

The standings of the Sprint race have thus been shaken up, with Yuki Tsunoda, Kimi Antonelli, and Pierre Gasly now in the points.
