A “solid” performance for Esteban Ocon in Miami, but no reward
Esteban Ocon had a weekend of contrasts in Miami. Despite a promising qualifying session, the French Haas driver failed to convert his efforts into points in the main race.

The Grand Prix weekend in Miami started on a subdued note for Esteban Ocon. Saturday’s sprint race was marked by challenging weather conditions, with heavy rain delaying the start. The French Haas driver, starting 12th, finished in the same position, 8.998 seconds behind the winner, Lando Norris. Despite a race without major incidents, he was unable to climb up the standings to secure points.
Then, during the qualifications, it was a different atmosphere. Ocon delivered his best performance of the season by securing 9th place on the starting grid. He praised his team’s work: “I think it was probably the best qualifying of the year for us so far.”
No points in Miami
On the other hand, on Sunday, despite a promising start, he couldn’t maintain his position in the top 10 during the main race. He finished in 12th place, about 82 seconds behind the leader, Oscar Piastri. He remains with 14 points in the drivers’ standings, occupying the 9th place.
After the race, the Frenchman stated that it was a solid race, but we lacked a bit of pace. Let’s hope that will be present in 15 days, in Emilia-Romagna…
