Lando Norris holds off Oscar Piastri to take second place on the podium at Imola
On the Imola circuit, Lando Norris once again confirmed his excellent form by taking second place in Sunday's Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. Although the Briton was never in a position to threaten Max Verstappen for victory, he had to battle with team-mate Oscar Piastri at the end of the race to hold on to his position.

The two McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, engaged in an intense but fair-play battle, illustrating the good rapport within the British team. Oscar Piastri, who had a strong weekend, did not try to force his way through, preferring to secure the double podium for McLaren.
This result reinforces the team in its role as the main threat to Red Bull and Max Verstappen at the start of the season, while Lando Norris secures a second consecutive podium, proving his regained consistency.
« Nobody had done more than 12 or 13 laps in free practice. Starting from 14 or 15 laps, everyone started having problems. Nobody was prepared for a race like today. There was a lot of degradation, everyone would have had to make two stops anyway. Even without the safety cars, everyone would have ended up stopping twice. It’s maybe less the case for Max Verstappen and me because we had a long first stint. The tires were difficult, it made the strategy a bit more fun », said the McLaren driver at the end of the race.
