A significant milestone for the American team, which also hopes to bounce back after a pointless race in Spain.

200th Grand Prix for Haas

Since its debut in 2016 at the Australian Grand Prix, where Romain Grosjean scored Haas’s first points with a 6th place finish, the team has experienced ups and downs, with its best ranking being 5th in the constructors’ championship in 2018.

Their best race result remains a 4th position, also achieved by Romain Grosjean in Austria the same year. To mark the event in Montreal, the team will feature a special livery inspired by their 2016 car.

Although he has only been a full-time driver since this season, Ollie Bearman says he is honored to be part of this adventure: « I am very proud of the team and the path we have taken. It’s an impressive milestone for the youngest F1 team. I am happy to be, even modestly, part of this story. »

The Briton also mentioned his discussion with Romain Grosjean during recent GPs, adding that some members like director Ayao Komatsu have been there since the very beginning — a strong sign of loyalty and continuity.

Esteban Ocon hopes to regain performance in Montreal

For his part, Esteban Ocon perfectly remembers Haas’ foundational race in F1: “I remember very well Romain’s radio message: ‘Welcome to Formula 1, guys.’ It was impressive.”

The Frenchman emphasizes that the team will sport a vintage suit and livery, with the team members’ names displayed on the front wing, hoping it brings them luck: « It’s a nice nod to the past, and I hope it brings us some success this weekend. »

But Esteban Ocon also insists on the need to progress: « We still have to work on consistency. Everyone is dangerous at the moment, it’s very tight, so we need to be at the top. »

His teammate shares this analysis, especially after a difficult race in Barcelona: « It was complicated, all the more so because some of our rivals performed well. It shows that we still have work to do. But for this 200th GP, it’s a very special moment for the team — a good result would be the icing on the cake. »
