Charles Leclerc gives his feedback on the changes made to his single-seater
Charles Leclerc qualified in second place on the grid for the Austrian Grand Prix, a fine performance since he hadn't done so since Monaco a month ago. Was it thanks to the changes made by Ferrari this weekend? The Monegasque answers.

Ferrari is bringing a new floor this weekend. Hopefully, this will close the gap with McLaren and compete with Mercedes. Subjected to a first test today in qualifying, have the developments borne fruit? « Enough for us to be in second position, » Charles Leclerc stated in a press conference.
« I had the impression that we had made some steps forward. To what extent, we need to see it on different track characteristics. It’s not just on this track that we have to judge that, but on several tracks. However, the numbers we were expecting were reached, which is a good start. It means we are working in the right direction. »
Very clear-sighted, as usual, the Ferrari driver provides an overview of his car’s performance and seems rather satisfied with the developments. As he stated, time is needed to be able to make a real judgment.
« I think we are mostly losing at high speed this weekend, which was expected. We expected to lose a bit compared to McLaren at high speeds, but we probably expected to lose even more at low speeds, which was a bit less the case. So we will analyze that. Obviously, we’ve also brought an update and we’re still learning to understand exactly what it brings to the car. However, it seems to be working as planned. »
On a high-altitude track, where many elements need to be managed, especially the tires, Charles Leclerc will first have to fend off Oscar Piastri before attempting to snatch the top spot from Lando Norris.
« Overall, it’s a good start to the weekend. We know we have a better car in the race than in qualifying, so I hope we can put a bit more pressure on McLaren tomorrow. »
